Accor obtains naming rights for Stadium Australia


Stadium Australia at Sydney Olympic Park will now be known as Accor Stadium, the global hospitality and lifestyle giant securing the naming rights of the former Sydney Olympic Games flagship site at the Olympic Park.

Alongside the 2000 Olympic Games and accommodating up to 100,000 concerts, the Accor stadium, as it is known today, hosted major sporting and entertainment events each year, ranging from international musical groups such as AC / DC, U2 and Ed Sheeran.

The stadium is also Sydney’s favorite venue for major sporting competitions and has seen the NRL Grand Final and Home State, the Bledisloe Cup and the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, including the Australia’s iconic moment in 2005 when John Aloisi’s successful penalty kick propelled the country into national euphoria. and qualification for its first FIFA World Cup in more than three decades.

Under its new name, Accor Stadium will also offer a range of new benefits to members of the company’s ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty program, with points that can be redeemed for a variety of cashless experiences. The stadium will soon see a new 1,200 square meter LED screen which will be one of the site’s many new highlights for fans.

The stadium’s first major event under its new name will take place this Saturday night when it hosts Australia’s national women’s soccer team, the Matildas, as they take on the United States in front of what is expected to be a record crowd.

Accor Pacific CEO Simon McGrath said securing the naming rights of the land was a natural partnership and a way to provide his guests and clients with more memorable experiences beyond their stay at the hotel.

The Accor stadium can accommodate more than 80,000 for sporting events and 100,000 for concerts.

The unveiling of the Accor Stadium comes the year the company celebrated 30 years of business in Australia and the Pacific, after opening its first hotel in Darling Harbor in 1991.

Stadium Australia CEO Daryl Kerry said the site has already welcomed more than 30 million customers since it opened ahead of the Olympics and is ready for an exciting new era as an Accor stadium.
