Orchestrate the digital backbone behind 187 competitions

As the Worldwide IT partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC)as well as the main integrator, Atos executed and orchestrated the main digital IT systems that enabled the safe delivery of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games.

Atos provided more than 50 critical IT applications which contributed to the smooth running of the event as a whole, including 187 competitions over a period of one month. These included the Olympic Management System who supported planning and operations (accreditations, workforce management, volunteer portal, competition calendar, sport registrations and qualifications, electronic voting) and the Olympic Broadcast System providing real-time results to fans, journalists and broadcasters around the world. Atos too secure IT infrastructure with cloud-based security services, including a security operations center (SOC), IT security incident response team, endpoint detection and response, and vulnerability assessment services.

In a first for the Games, Atos deployed its systems on a public cloud. This has led to the need to create applications that can work on different IT environments and to implement innovative technologies and working methods, such as Edge computing or DevSecOps, in order to bring more security and agility to the whole architecture.
