Lipscomb brings decades of DCI and organizational coaching expertise as USAC grows with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in sport and its organization.
October 25, 2021 (COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) USA Cycling announces that David Lipscomb, CEO and Head Coach of CIS Training Systems LLC, will initially serve a one-year term as the organization’s organizational development consultant and DEI.
Lipscomb has spent over 25 years at the highest levels of cycling and martial arts, and brings over 10 years of leadership and organizational development expertise. He was an early advocate for DCI initiatives, having served as Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for Sovereign Bank in 2009. In this capacity, he wrote the first ever diversity playbook for the company. Bank. Today, Lipscomb is CEO and Head Coach of New York-based CIS Training Systems, a cycling performance organization that focuses on coaching in the broadest sense possible to drive personal, professional and organizational performance and success. . The goal of Lipscomb’s coaching methodology is to create training behaviors that go beyond cycling by breaking down mental and communication barriers, thereby transcending individual and by extension organizational boundaries.

Although officially an independent contractor, Lipscomb will be part of the management team reporting to the CEO. He will remain in his position with USA Cycling for at least 12 months.
