Ernest Koranteng earns doctorate in business administration after studying in France

Sports journalist and media manager, Ernest Koranteng holds a doctorate in business administration from Toulouse Business School in France. His research has focused on organizational resilience in strategic management and the management of organizational behavior.

Ernest left his post as sports manager and host of Metro TV’s flagship sports program, Sports File in January 2018 to prepare for a terminal degree after a decade and a half working as a journalist and media manager. His career in journalism and media management has taken him to the most prestigious organizations, including The Multimedia Group and Metro TV.

A viral video widely circulated nearly four years ago in January 2018, showed the famous radio and TV personality indicating a hiatus in his media career after 15 years as he thanked employers, bosses, colleagues. and the fans for their support.

Before being admitted to Toulouse Business School in France and leaving the ink fraternity, Ernest Koranteng rose to prominence and celebrated the status of the youngest, most dynamic and emblematic group leader of a Department of Multimedia Group Limited, owner of (Joy Fm, www .myjoyonline.com, Adom Fm, Hitz Fm, Luv FM, Nhyira Fm, Multi TV) in charge of Sports. He became a household name hosting sports programs on Metro TV, including the Black Stars Diaries, which covered the behind-the-scenes activities of Ghana’s national football teams at major international tournaments including the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.

Ernest holds an MBA from the University of Ghana and a BA in Communication from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Prior to his full-time doctoral studies in France, Ernest gained enviable talent and experience attending and reporting on several local and international sporting events, including seven (7) African Cup of Nations tournaments in countries like Angola, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Egypt. His extensive experience covering competitions also includes FIFA World Cup tournaments with the Ghana Black Stars in South Africa and Brazil as well as national junior football teams through the Black Starlets, Black Satellites. and Olympic football teams in places like Turkey, South Korea, Switzerland and New Zealand. Ernest Koranteng, a well-traveled journalist, has reported on more than 100 international matches in club and national team rosters, as well as the Olympics.

Through this academic achievement, Dr. Ernest Koranteng joins an exclusive class of icons who have followed stellar sports broadcasting careers with college studies to earn doctorates in selected areas of interest at home and abroad. This remarkable list includes Dr Kwame Baah Nuako, Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare and Dr Randy Abbey. Dr Baah Nuako currently works with Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority and a former sports broadcaster with Radio Universe, Radio Gold and Adom FM. Dr Baah Nuako has also worked as an executive at Asante Kotoko and currently heads a committee at the Ghana Football Association.

Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare has made a name for himself as the host of the Sports Beat program on GTV. He has since returned to the screens of GTV and has worked as a speaker and consultant to the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority. Dr Randy Abbey has been the face of Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana program for over a decade after working during his radio formative years as a sports presenter with Radio Gold and Choice FM.

Dr Randy Abbey has also held administrative positions in football circles as a spokesperson for Accra Hearts of Oak and the Ghana Football Association. He has worked as an influential member of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council for the past two years under the chairmanship of Kurt Okraku, also a sports presenter in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

It remains to be seen whether Dr Ernest Koranteng will return to the Ghanaian media space in any capacity, having worked and built a reputation as one of the most iconic practitioners and managers of the past two decades.
