ST. THOMAS AQUINAS NABS FIRST VICTORY IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Everyone knows the history of St. Thomas Aquinas’ sports programs, including the 13 tackle football championships, but history was written for the Raiders on the opening day of the 2022 season with a victory to launch the era of flag football in Fort Lauderdale. -school based.

St. Thomas Aquinas (1-0) hosts Miami Norland (1-0) Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale while Braddock travels to Miami Southridge on Tuesday afternoon for a tilt with the Spartans.

WEIR LAKE BLASTS NORTH MARION ON THE ROAD
The Lake Weir Hurricanes opened the season with a convincing 31-0 win over the North Marion Colts with Erilynn Beltre scoring on three touchdowns to lead the team into the game at Sparr’s Stan Toole Stadium.
Head coach Fred Anderson reported that the team was very focused to open the season and racked up six interceptions during the game while Beltre took control of the attack moving the ball upfield with his runs for keep workouts alive.
Lake Weir (1-0) travel to Inverness to face Citrus on Tuesday night with the tilt scheduled for 6 p.m.
Tonight, the Lake Weir Flag football team opened the season with a 31-0 shutout against North Marion. The defense was off, with 6 interceptions. Tomorrow we leave for Citrus. 1 and 0, seeking to continue the sequence.

THE SPANISH RIVER BLOWS BEYOND THE OLYMPIC HEIGHTS
The Spanish River Sharks already look in mid-season form despite the start of the season, beating crosstown foes Olympic Heights with a convincing 52-0 victory over the Lions.

CENTENARY UPEND ST. CLOUD IN PLAYOFFS 2021 REMATCH MATCH
To open the season, Centennial picked up where they left off and that left it all on the field against St. Cloud where they lost by one point in the 2021 regional semi-finals.

WELLINGTON RETURNS PAHOKEE
The Wellington Wolverines (1-0) held off Pahokee at State Road 80 with a 44-0 shutout victory led by Keelin Coleman’s four total touchdowns (2 rushing, 2 passing) to kick off the 2022 season.
The Wolverines started things off with a 40-yard punt return from Isabella Esteves for a touchdown to take a 6-0 lead before Noelle Pride named a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the second. quarter to put the score at 12-0.
Wellington will take a long break with spring break scheduled for next week before returning to the field after March 20.
