Mandt Lodge Olympic Hockey Experience Program is July 13 | Community


Sons of Norway welcomes the public to ‘An Evening with Nate LaPoint and the Olympic Experience’ at 7pm on Wednesday July 13 at The Lodge, located at 317 South Page Street, Stoughton.

Nate will share his stories from the Olympics! The Stoughton resident served the Team USA men’s hockey team as an equipment manager during the 2022 Winter Olympics. He will share the experience of being in China (and during a pandemic ), some official Olympic memorabilia, and will recount his month abroad with the greatest athletes in the world.

The Eau Claire native began his college kit experience while a student at the University of North Dakota beginning in 2008. He served as the kit manager for the University of North Dakota Badgers. Wisconsin for the past 13 seasons.

During the summers of 2018 and 2019, LaPoint served Team USA at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, including once in Canada and once in Slovakia and Hungary. He was also responsible for equipment for the 2021 USA National Junior Team which won gold at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship in Alberta and for the team again at the 2022 which has been discontinued.
