Middlebury welcome back Kate Johnson ’09 as assistant Nordic coach

Middlebury has announced the rehiring of Kate Johnson ’09 as assistant Nordic ski coach. Johnson previously held the same position with the Panthers from 2016-2020, before taking a coaching job with the United States cross country teams during the Olympic cycle.

“We are delighted to welcome Kate back to the program,” the head coach said. Andre Johnson. “Her time as a two-sport student-athlete at Middlebury provides valuable perspective and experience to our current athletes. Her past roles as a junior coach, former Middlebury coach and coach of the ski team and United States Olympic bring a unique and broad set of skills and knowledge to our team.Most importantly, however, Kate’s boundless enthusiasm for all things skiing and ski racing is an asset to any group. she works with and we are lucky to have her back.

“I have always loved Middlebury, skiing at Middlebury and working with young developing athletes. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to return to this community as a coach,” said Kate Johnson. “Being part of any team and building it is a uniquely rewarding process and I look forward to supporting our current group of student-athletes through this process.”
