NYSEF is looking for an experienced, well-rounded coach who understands Nordic skiing from an athlete’s perspective as well as a program management perspective.

The Cross Country Head Coach must understand the technology, technique, physical and mental demands required to be successful at all levels of the race. It is essential that this coach understands the developmental needs of high performance athletes from the developmental ages through to the college and national team levels.

This coach will work directly with NYSEF Nordic athletes and contribute to the overall development of the NYSEF program – which oversees athletes of all disciplines and ages. There is a particular need for collaboration between the Nordic disciplines in this position: biathlon, cross-country, Nordic combined and ski jumping.

The ideal candidate will be able to connect with every athlete and bring all athletes and their families together to create a positive team culture that inspires every athlete to make their dreams a reality. The candidate will help create a healthy environment by working closely with all coaches, staff, parents and supporters within the greater NYSEF community.

The New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) is one of the premier winter sports programs in the United States. Founded in 1973, the organization has grown from a dream of providing athletes of all ages with a centralized training program offering a multidisciplinary operation that supports athletes in Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Nordic Combined, ski jumping and snowboarding. NYSEF has developed national and Olympic level athletes in many winter sports including: Alpine Skiing, Freestyle, Skiercross, Ski Jumping, Cross Country, Biathlon and Nordic Combined since its inception.

NYSEF partners with the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) and their sites in and around Lake Placid, NY, including Mount Van Hoevenberg and the Olympic Show Jumping Complex. NYSEF also has a partnership with Northwood School, a coeducational, independent boarding school in Lake Placid, New York.
