Alpha Win races is back in Lake George this Labor Day weekend with its triathlon series. The 2022 Lake George Triathlon Festival features three endurance events designed to provide “distance for all”. Alpha Win produces endurance events across the country. The organization offers multiple race distances so athletes of all fitness and skill levels can participate.

With air temperatures in the 50s, the triathletes hit the waters of Lake George from Million Dollar Beach early Saturday morning, September 3, for the first leg of the Alpha 70.3 race. After swimming 1.3 miles, the athletes mounted bikes for a 56-mile ride along the Schroon River to Lake Brant. The third leg of the race saw the athletes run a half marathon along the Warren County Bike Trail.

Sunday brings two events, the Alpha Sprint – swim 750m, bike 12.4 miles and run 3.1 miles – and the Alpha Olympic – swim 1,500m, bike 24.8 miles and run 6, 2 miles. The Sprint will launch from Million Dollar Beach at 6:30 a.m. and the Olympic at 7:10 a.m. Sprint riders will pedal along the east shore of Lake George to Dunham’s Bay; the Olympic Cycle Path heads south to Queensbury before returning to Lake George. Both Sunday events end with a race through the village of Lake George.
