Simone Facey is now officially a certified coach – Trackalerts


Jamaican former sprinter Simone Facey is now “officially a certified trainer”. She completed all requirements of the USATF Level 1 Coach Education Program on August 26, 2022.

Facey, an Olympic Games 4x100m relay silver medalist, shared the news on her social media page. “Officially a certified coach,” she wrote.

Six hours after publication, several former athletes, including Ato Bolton, Kemoy Campbell and Anneisha McLaughlin, reacted lovingly to the news.

Facey also helped Jamaica win gold in the 4x100m at the World Championships in Athletics Berlin 2009. She was also part of the 4x100m teams that won silver at Osaka 2007 and bronze at London 2017 .

She is a silver medalist in the 200m at the Pam Am Games in 2011 and won bronze at the same event in Toronto in 2015.

When Jamaica hosted the U20 World Championships in Athletics in 2002, Facey anchored the host home to beat USA with Lauryn Williams.
