The curtain rises on the 3rd edition of the CONMEBOL Copa América Fútbol Playa

CONMEBOL | May 20, 2022 – From this Saturday May 21 to Sunday May 29, at the Los Pynandi World Cup stadium in Asunción, the CONMEBOL Copa América Fútbol Playa 2022 will be played.

Brazil is the team with the most trophies in this tournament with two championships.

With four matches starting this Saturday, the third edition of the CONMEBOL Copa America Beach Soccer – Paraguay will feature ten teams chasing continental glory, in a discipline that is gaining more and more fans on the continent.

The Seleçao were the last champions, in the edition that took place in Lima, in 2018, where they beat Paraguay in the final. Precisely, the two sets are the top seeds of Groups A and B.

The host team will face Chile, closing the first day where five-time world champions Brazil will face Peru and Argentina will face Colombia in a clash of the powers of the discipline.

The tournament will take place at the Los Pynandi World Cup stadium, located on the grounds of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, with free entry, as defined this Friday, during the technical meeting for the organization of the championship, chaired by Thiago Jannuzzi, responsible for CONMEBOL national team competitions.

A total of 27 matches will be played in the competition, which will consist of 2 phases: PRELIMINARY PHASE (Group Phase) and FINAL PHASE (disputes for 9th, 7th and 5th places, the Semi-Final, contestation of 3rd place and the Final ) . All phases will be a single series of matches.
