U.S. women’s hockey roster reduced to Olympic number


The United States National Women’s Hockey Team roster has been reduced from 28 to 23, which is the maximum of the Olympic roster.

Before Britta curl and Lacey eden and defenders Nathalie Buchbinder, Kali flanagan and Anna wilgren were removed from the list.

Flanagan was part of the gold medal team at the 2018 Olympics. Curl, Eden and Buchbinder were part of the 25-man squad for the world championship in August.

The original 27-man national team roster was named in July. Wilgren was added in September.

The United States could still make changes to the roster before the Olympic team is named in late December or early January. His next exhibition games against Canada are Wednesday, Friday and next Monday. Monday’s game will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, NBCSports.com/live and the NBC Sports app.

The US team is dominated by forwards Hilary Knight and Kendall Coyne Schofield and Maddie rooney, the goalie for the epic shootout victory over Canada in the 2018 Olympic final.

Since 2018, the veterans Kacey bellamy, Meghan Duggan, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux Morando retirement.
